Book Review - Ricco by Swapna Sanchita

Book Review: Ricco by Swapna Sanchita

Ricco, the children’s book written by Swapna Sanchita, is both a pleasantly heartwarming narrative and a delightfully entertaining tale about a spider. Ricco is a clever and brave spider who serves as the main character in this tale. In the vicinity of the afara trees, about 500 meters from the Congo River, Ricco spent his early days. After he has a chance encounter with Commander Taran5, a member of the highly regarded GloSSI (Global Spider Services Intelligence), he is thrust into a world of commandos and covert operations. After leaving his house in the area of the Congo River, he makes his way to the GloSSI headquarters on the outskirts of Bumba. Ricco, in his role as a trained GloSSI commando, puts his life at risk to protect other spiders throughout the globe.

Ricco, written by Swapna Sanchita, is one of those novels that everyone, of any age, can appreciate and take pleasure in reading. The intended audience is young readers, so the language is rather straightforward and basic. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll find that this is quite likely one of the best adventure stories you’ve read. Not only does the author provide the audience with a great deal of entertainment with this short tale, but he also has a very subtle way of conveying a few life lessons. And as for children, I believe that letting them experience such pure perspectives on life will help them see the world quite differently, in a better way.

Swapna Sanchita’s artwork is charming, and her story is engaging. It taps into some common childhood fantasies, like the idea that animals and insects can talk like us. The narrative is told in a charmingly traditional manner, and the characters are painted with a lot of care and attention to detail. It is quite astounding how this book manages to be delightful and light on its feet while simultaneously presenting concerns that will touch children with genuine depth.

The beautiful, rhythmic prose written by Swapna Sanchita, as well as the accompanying illustrations she created, are both fascinating and intriguing. It is a delightfully scrumptious treat, full of motion, happiness, and boisterous fun. However, the underlying lesson that is conveyed throughout “RICCO: A Tale of Adventure” also demonstrates a basic principle that is both essential and significant. A fantastic, marvelous blend of fun, entertainment and didactic purpose, and highly recommended for both in-class and at-home learning, and absolutely excellent for ESL training.
